I believe Abortion is an act of violence that destroys a human life.
As a physician who has studied the development and growth of human beings, I am convinced our "Life" begins at conception.
As a Christian I believe that our Soul is given at the moment of conception. Life is very precious and strictly
a gift from God. When we take the life of the unborn, we are destroying a child of God, one of our own kind, a unique
individual.
Legalized abortion was a direct result of the sexual revolution in the 1960's. Once there
were no limits to sexual intercourse, its natural consequence had to be dealt with. Unfortunately it became a matter
of "choice." In retrospect it was an ingenious way to deceive the world that legalized abortion would "help"
society. We were told poverty, illiteracy and crime would all be eliminated. Child abuse, rape and divorce would
also stay in the past.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to discover that we were deceived.
Thirty-five years later, most of us understand that legalizing abortion with no restrictions went too far. There
have been 48 million abortions since 1973 and it continues at an alarming rate.
Abortion has completely
changed the social make-up of our culture. The Baby Boomers age 50 and over are the most populous group. We are
not going to have enough young people in the next 20 years to support them or our economy. The long term outlook to
support programs such as Medicare and Social Security is bleak. A nation cannot kill one third of its children without
dramatic social and economic ramifications.
Instead of helping Men and Women feel closer to each other, abortion
has divided us further. Men force their women to abort, or the woman forces the man to accept her decision to abort. The
experts said we could have sex as often as we like, which would help relationships. The fear of pregnancy has been completely
removed from the sexual act, either by contraception or abortion. Instead of our relationships being stronger, our familes
are being destroyed. America is facing an unparralleled time of selfishness, materialism and perversion.
Besides
the death of 48 million babies, the saddest lie of the abortion holocaust was being told that abortion would help the
health of women. Abortion has made women very unhealthy. Many women are made sterile, suffer from physical and
emotional trauma and many develop breast cancer. As a physician who has investigated the abortion procedure at length,
I am convinced it hurts women. My wife has advanced metastatic (Stage 4) breast cancer in her lungs at the age of 36.
She had an abortion at age 20. She has no family history of breast cancer. I believe abortion played a role
in her cancer.
You may ask, "How does Abortion cause Breast Cancer?" Biologically, the breasts
are very immature until exposed to a full term pregnancy and breast feeding. In fact having babies and nursing
is protective against breast cancer. In the first trimester the breast grows immensely in response to high levels of
hormones. This rapid growth involves immature cells. They do not mature until the end of pregnancy.
If the pregnancy is disrupted artificially, ie via abortion, the immature cells are left to multiply and one day cause cancer.
The risk is particularly high if the woman's first pregnancy is aborted. The addition of hormonal contraceptives
also increase the risk for the same reason. Women deserve better.
