About the Novel
The main character, Tim Roberts, is a young OB/GYN
doctor whose career is quickly advancing. His greed and ambition drive him to moonlight at an abortion facility. Someone finds
out and starts to harass him and his family. Once his son is severely injured he is forced to take drastic measures that endangers
his own life. Along the way, one of his sickly patients, Angel Johnson befriends him and prays for his conversion. Dr. Robert’s
beautiful wife, Lisa, eventually reveals a dark secret from the past. This thrilling novel portrays the complexities of the
abortion issue alongside exciting medical drama. The power of prayer shines through as a nonbeliever finds belief in Jesus
Christ.
About
the Author:
Dr. Tom Messe, MD is a Family Practice Physician with 14 years experience. He is active in
the Roman Catholic Church and has taken an interest in the heated issue of abortion. It is an issue
that affects many while being mentioned rarely in the mainstream media. Abortion is mysteriously absent
in modern literature. With 46 million abortions in the U.S. since 1973, Dr. Messe felt compelled to write
a story about the huge impact of this procedure.
Surprised By Angel is his first novel. Dr. Messe's wife is Charnette Messe. Together
they have appeared on numerous Christian radio and television shows and print publications. Their media
appearances focused on such topics as their faith journey, Dr. Messe's struggle practicing medicine according to his religious
beliefs while in the Navy, and Charnette's abortion and breast cancer experiences.
Their story has been featured on the
Oprah Winfrey show, Rosie Magazine, National Catholic Register, Our Sunday Visitor, EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network),
Physician Magazine, Pensacola News Journal, The New London Day, and Facing Life Head On, to name a few.
Dr. Messe has spoken
to several large groups on the medical aspects of abortion as a member of the pro-life group, Missionaries for Life.
